What is happening this month at Sleep Unlimited? – July 2022

Conferences

Last month we attended the BABICM conference, we loved meeting you all and we had so many inspiring conversations. Next up we have the Bush & Company Conference on the 7th of July! We will be on stand 17 ready to talk about all things sleep. Dr David Lee has a talk at 12.10pm on Sleep – Helping the brain and body be resilient. Don’t miss it!

REST Programme™️

We are loving being out and about again attending conferences after so long. That’s why we are so excited about holding our first in person training of 2022 in London at the start of this month! We offer our two-day REST Programme™️ courses in person and online. As much as we have enjoyed adapting to the new online learning, we do still enjoy meeting you all in person instead of via a screen. Our training is available to all healthcare professionals working with adults and children and will enable them to assess and treat insomnia disorders.

Day One of the training focuses on the science of sleep to give you a deeper understanding of sleep and the different insomnias. Day Two is when you learn the REST™️ techniques to help assess and treat your client’s sleep problems. All our REST™️ techniques use evidence-based psychological and behavioural treatment interventions with proven efficacy and recommended by NICE – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi).

If you are interested in attending one of our in-person training courses, we will be in Bristol in November. We are also running more online courses in October and December. More details on our website https://sleepunlimited.co.uk/next-courses/

Sleep In Complex Conditions

Dr Lee also delivered one of our Sleep in Complex Conditions courses last month. This day long course is for those working in neurorehabilitation, to help understand how complex conditions can impact upon sleep and to help treat client’s sleep problems. Please note you must have prior experience in working with clients with complex conditions before attending the course.

Similarly, to the REST Programme™️ our Sleep in Complex Conditions course again only uses evidence based CBTi interventions as recommended by NICE. Last month we discussed the movement of the NHS starting to recognise the importance of using CBTi over sleeping tablets. Part Three

Also watch our website for details of upcoming ‘Part 3’ training – open to those who have completed the REST Programme™ foundation and advanced days – this will be an opportunity to ask questions of Dr Lee in a half day live, interactive supervision session.

NR Times Articles

Last month we started an association with NR times and their exciting new online magazine. We will have articles featuring each month. If you have not seen these already, you should definitely give them a read! We have one on sleep in long covid https://nrtimes.co.uk/managing-sleep-in-long-covid-sleepunltd/  and one on the impact of stress on sleep https://nrtimes.co.uk/the-impact-of-stress-on-sleep-sleepunltd/. Coming up this month we will discussing the effect of the school holiday on your child’s sleep, and how to manage sleep over the holidays. Keep an eye on our social media pages for new articles.
