Another month of fully booked training for us in November! Firstly, we are looking forward to delivering our REST Programme™️ open course in person at The Engineers’ House in Bristol. Our REST Programme™️ is also being delivered online and in person for NHS Trusts this month. As always we have created a bespoke programme for their teams. We are delivering a lot of our ‘Introduction to Sleep’ hour long sessions to employees. These sessions help to improve their sleep and overall mental health. This month we are going to two conferences – The Brain Injury Group conference and The OT Show, where we are delivering keynote talks. Not forgetting our monthly Sleep Q&A with the BPS, supporting those who’ve signed up for our training on their virtual learning environment.
Our Training
All of our training follows Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi) which is the NICE recommended treatment pathway for insomnia disorders. We only use evidence-based information in our practice to deliver effective education and treatment, and our experienced team is fully qualified.
Rest Programme™️
We deliver our REST Programme™️ as open courses throughout the year, online and in person to healthcare professionals working to support clients with sleep problems. However, we can also tailor the REST Programme™️ for organisations, adapting the advice to be relevant to their client group. We are able to provide this service as Dr Lee is not only an expert in sleep, but he also has years of experience working with complex conditions. Therefore Dr Lee can recommend CBTi techniques to a variety of healthcare professionals. We are proud to have provided our training to 200 of the NHS Trusts across the UK. This is a very important achievement for us, ensuring our amazing NHS staff have the tools to treat sleep problems efficiently and effectively.
Hour Long Sessions
Our hour-long sessions are highly entertaining and educational workshops offer practical advice to employees including:
- Raising awareness about sleep and sleeping problems by educating participants on the science of sleep.
- Informing participants about the issues accompanying insomnia.
- Providing employees with a range of skills to improve their sleep, which have proven efficacy.
- Workshops will teach attendees how to recognise a sleep problem and will be equipped with the tools to help themselves, and their friends and families to a better night’s sleep. We can also signpost to further help where this is indicated.
Similarly to our REST Programme™️, our hour-long introduction sessions are all tailored to the organisation’s needs. For example we can provide sessions to help shift workers; offer education about sleep apnoea; talk about the menopause and sleep. We are happy to discuss with you any issues impacting sleep that your colleagues face. Again, these sessions can be held online or in person.
Conferences
We are back out and about at conferences and are so thrilled to have been asked to speak. Firstly at the BIG Conference in Milton Keynes, where Dr Lee is discussing brain injuries in children, how these impact on sleep and how improving sleep can lead to better rehabilitation outcomes.
Secondly, we are heading back to the NEC for the OT Show on the 23rd & 24th of November. We will be on stand A61, do come and say hello. Don’t miss Dr Lee’s talk on “Managing the Symptoms of Long Covid: Why Good Sleep is Critical” on the 23rd of November at 1:15pm in Theatre 1.
BPS Q&A
Don’t forget if you are completing our Psychology of Sleep Course via the BPS you can join monthly Q&A sessions with Dr Lee. The next one is on the 16th of November. For more information about the Psychology of Sleep Course, visit the BPS website https://learn.bps.org.uk/?categoryid=11
